This historic cuvée of the Estate, produced since the 17th century, is a blend of different soils and varietals situated on the coolest terroirs. The Grenache blanc grapes come from the “La Crau” plateau, while the Clairette, Roussanne, Bourboulenc, and Picpoul varietals are grown in the “Vallon de la Solitude”. The Roussanne and Grenache blanc grapes are fermented and aged in barrels on fine lees while the other varietals mature in vats to retain all their freshness.

La Solitude belongs to one of the oldest families of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, whose roots go back to the 15th century. Today the Estate is managed by Florent Lançon, who represents the eighth generation and continues to uphold the family values. Here, in an environment in which every living thing has a role to play: the wildlife and natural vegetation, the vines, and the people. A great wine is created by the vines, without artifice, and tells the story of their setting.
Tasting Notes:
Nose of garrigue bouquet, cistus flower, blackcurrant buds. Fresh and balanced mouth, with aromas of cocoa and cherry, with a long finish of liquorice.

A cuvee of 65% greanche, 20% syrah, and 5% each of mourvedre, counoise and cinsault from biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold.” – James Suckling, 94 points
“Vinified from certified organic grapes and checking in at 15.5% alcohol, the 2022 Chateauneuf-du-Pape is gorgeous. Licorice, strawberry jam, raspberry, red cherry and meaty components are all nicely delineated. Touching the palate with loads of concentration and a juicy fruit core, the 2022 possesses a firm tannic structure, so I'd give it at least three more years in bottle. It was aged for 15 months in a combination of concrete tanks (90%) and new oak barriques (10%).” – Antonio Galloni, 93 points
