Brand Story: Champagne Laurent-Perrier, located in Tours-sur-Marne, is at the crossroads of the Marne’s three main wine growing areas: the Montagne de Reims, the Vallee de la Marne, and the Côte des Blancs in the premier “Grand Cru” area. Laurent Perrier has been mastering the art of producing great Champagnes for connoisseurs in terms of flavour and aroma for the past two centuries. Today, Laurent Perrier’s legacy lives on, with the full-fledged estate becoming one of the most sought-after Champagnes, equipped with cutting-edge technology.
Tasting Notes: A very pale and crystal‑bright in colour. Intense and complex on the nose with a wide range of aromas, including fruits (citrus and white fruit), flowers (honeysuckle) and iodine notes, which give off an impression of freshness. This airy and delicate wine of surprising length is characterised by high purity of taste, and a long and non-saturating finish. Best served between 8°C and 10°C.
Grape Varietal(s): Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Reserve Wine
Awards & Accolades (Robert Parker/ Wine Spectator/ James Suckling etc):
“The latest release of Laurent Perrier's NV Ultra Brut is based on the 2014 vintage, disgorged in 2021. Offering up aromas of sweet buttery pastry, peach, iodine and hazelnut, it's medium-bodied, ample and fleshy, with bright acids and a chalky finish. Time sur lattes and on cork post disgorgement have rounded out any hard edges to deliver a very suave Champagne out of the gates.” – Wine Advocate, 91 points
“This is very dry and vinous with very fine bubbles that wrap themselves around the wine. It's full with lovely fruit that is subtle and encompassing on the palate. Caressing texture and finish. Some pie crust and dry biscuit undertones here. Also white pepper. The base is 2014 and bone dry. Six years on lees. 55% pinot noir and 45% chardonnay. Bottled in May 2021.” – James Suckling, 93 points
“A crisp version, with the firm backbone of acidity enmeshed with a minerally underpinning and notes of grapefruit granita, preserved lemon, fresh herbs and oyster shell. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Drink now.” – Wine Spectator, 90 points
