2021 PETER MICHAEL CHARDONNAY, BELLE COTE, SONOMA COUNTY (BUNDLE OF 2)
In 1982, Sir Peter and Lady Margaret Michael established the Peter Michael Winery on a square mile of rugged volcanic slopes along the western side of Mount St. Helena in Knights Valley, Sonoma County, California. The estate's vineyards are situated on steep hillsides, ranging from 1100 to nearly 2000 feet in elevation. Although the property spans nearly 600 acres, only around 20% are planted with grapevines. The Peter Michael Winery is renowned for its exceptional single vineyard, estate grown Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and a distinctive Cabernet Sauvignon blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. Remaining steadfast to its commitment, the winery employs classical winemaking methods to craft outstanding wines, ensuring only a limited quantity is produced, thereby maintaining the highest standards of quality.
Notes: Intense orange blossom, lemon custard, and jasmine burst from the glass of the 2021 ‘Belle Cote.’ This highly aromatic bouquet continues with rose petal and lychee underlain by orange marmalade bass notes. The rich entry and dense mid-palate show the depth created by our oldest Chardonnay vines. Hints of orange peel, pastry, and lemon curd lead to a long, polished finish. ‘Belle Cote’ can be enjoyed in its exuberant youth or after decades of cellaring.
