Takahata Town is located in the southern part of the prefecture, and is a town rich in nature, bordering Fukushima Prefecture to the south and Miyagi Prefecture to the east. Agriculture is thriving in Takahata Town, including rice cultivation, grapes, and La France apples. Among them, Kamiwada Organic Rice, which has won top prizes in taste contests, is a nationally recognized brand of rice. Takahata Town boasts the largest shipment volume of Chardonnay and Delaware varieties in the country, which are also used in Takahata Wine, and is known to many as a pioneer of organic farming.

Our winery was founded in 1990 in Takahata Town, one of the leading grape-producing regions in Japan.

Our mission is to become a "premium winery" that can rival the world's most famous wine-producing regions, even if it takes 100 years. To achieve this, we have set a high goal, the "Takahata Winery 100-Year Plan." We will take one step at a time every day to make the leap from a "production" manufacturing company that has focused on "winemaking" and "production" to a "production" winery that can provide customers with not just wine, but a lifestyle and experience with wine.

In addition to working to produce high-quality wine, we will also provide opportunities to learn about wine that can only be experienced at this winery, and by increasing the value of the Takahata Winery brand that we have cultivated thus far, we will always strive to achieve further sustainable growth and take on new challenges so that we can give back to Takahata Town, which bears our name, and to the local contract farmers.

Tasting Note: Japanese original grapes blend, Muscat Bailey A 57%, Bailey Alicante A 24%, Black Queen 19%. Barrel aged for 12 months. flavours from Koshu characters.
