Marsannay is the village which marks the northern gateway to the Côte d'Or when leaving Dijon, the capital of Burgundy and home to the Ducs de Bourgogne. This village marks the beginning of the Route des Grands Crus which follows the N6 highway through the Côte d'Or. Wines from Marsannay are generally lively and robust; characteristics that come from the rich iron soil. Marsannay received its Appellation Contrôlée in 1987 in recognition of its consistently high quality wine.

Founded in 1797, Maison Louis Latour boasts the largest Grand Cru Domaine in Burgundy, covering a massive 27 hectares out of a total vineyard of 48 hectares. “Balance is our obsession”. For 11 generations now, Maison Louis Latour is guided by this very philosophy. They strive to bring out the delicate fruit qualities while respecting the natural rhythm of their vines with nature. In so doing, sustainability has, since the early 1990s, formed a key component of their practice.
Tasting Notes:
Our Marsannay 2022 has a deep ruby colour. Its nose reveals aromas of cherry and liquorice. The palate is full and fresh, revealing cherry and peppery notes. Nice length.
Grape Varietal(s):
Pinot Noir
Awards & Accolades (Robert Parker/ Wine Spectator/ James Suckling etc):
“For a moderate price, here is Cote de Nuits complexity, earthy and floral, and wonderful sour cherry fruit. All of this is underlined by elegant tannins and mineral energy on the medium-bodied palate. Impressive polish in the long finish. Drink or hold.” – James Suckling, 93 points
