L'AIGLE A DEUX TETES COTES DU JURA SAVAGNIN "LES CLOUS NATURE" 2019

Henri Le Roy grew up in Paris, but from a young age always had a strong connection and regularly visited the Jura. His love for the culture, food, and wine of the region ultimately led him to start his domaine, Domaine de L’Aigle à Deux Têtes (Two- headed Eagle), in the small picturesque village of Vincelles in 2005. It’s 5 ha in size and all of Henri’s vineyards (mostly on blue marl soils) form part of the “Côtes du Jura” Appellation. The Poulsard comes from the historic "Les Clous" vineyard that was revived in 2008 and recently expanded in 2015. The vineyard has south facing slopes and is loaded with the marl soils that define this region.

Tasting Notes :
The Savagnin is a pure ouille-style (topped off/non-oxidative). It is filled with flavors of lemon curd with a creamy texture and fine mineral finish. It is long on the palate with a vibrant core of acidity. Absolutely gorgeous stuff and a perfect crossover for those wanting to see how this grape can behave when handled by such adept hands.
