Mitolo was established in 1999 by Frank Mitolo whose vision is to create wines of individuality, integrity and utmost quality. Underpinned by its motto “strong yet gentle”, Mitolo’s wines seek to reflect a unique Australian style of being powerful yet elegant. In 2000, the first Mitolo Wine called G.A.M. was launched. With acclaimed winemaker Ben Glaetzer’s winemaking skills, Mitolo has since achieved outstanding reviews from globally famous wine critics and a market demand outstripping supply.

Tasting Notes:
Dark ruby with purple hues. Red, blue and black fruits, aromatic dry spices and a mineral, earthy undertone. A seamless connection between the three varieties. Medium bodied with bright cherry, raspberry, spiced plum, blackberry and mulberry all present. Succulent acidity brings a pleasing tartness, balanced by a silky textured and opulent mid palate, finishing long with fine grained gravelly tannins.

“The seventh son of the seventh son, from Middle Eastern lore: the chosen one. The 2020 7th Son Grenache Shiraz Sagrantino is a blend of 60% Grenache, 34% Shiraz and 6% Sagrantino (it adds gravitas and intensity to the wine). This is generous and fleshy. This 2020 has Grenache from Sellicks Hill and Blewitt Springs. The fruit was picked, fermented and matured separately. No new oak in Grenache or Sagrantino, the Shiraz has a small proportion of new oak. The wine is lush, plush and pretty, with a framework of savory aniseed tannin.” – Wine Advocate, 92 points
