Tasting Notes: NA
COLOUR: Deep cherry red
NOSE: Primary fruits of plum and blackberry with chocolate hints, subtle clove and green peppercorn spice notes.
PALATE: Plum, blackberry and spice notes are carried over to the palate, meeting with dark and red cherries. The soft tannin structure is harmoniously supportive of the medium bodied palate. Gentle acidity mainatins balance throughout as the wine evokes nuances of fine herbs on the finish.
Grape Varietal(s): Shiraz
Awards & Accolades (Robert Parker/ Wine Spectator/ James Suckling etc):
“2021 is a superb vintage and its beauty shines through the wines, from entry level to top-drawer. All the classic signatures of fine shiraz, fresher and cooler climatic of feel than its origins suggests, even at this approachable line. Blue fruits, lilac and nori. Perfumed, mid-weighted and brisk. Perfectly judged. It would be hard to find better value, irrespective of origin. Drink or hold. Screw cap.” – James Suckling, 92 points
“This walks a classic line, with brooding dark fruits atop ripe red ones, along with black plum skin, coffee grounds and a complexing layer of ferrous, iodine-laced earthiness. There’s a ripe, juicy richness here that’s well tempered by a fresh finish and enough tannin to make this food-friendly but also approachable solo.” – James Halliday, 90 points
