The excellence of Saint-Joseph

This 100% Syrah cuvée comes from a vine planted on hillsides in 1966 on granite arena soil on the heights of Tournon-Sur-Rhône . Located in the cradle of the appellation. This Syrah comes from very poor granitic soil, on shallow soils with outcropping bedrock. On a very steep hillside, its exceptional exposure favors the best expression of Syrah. Furthermore, the Saint-Joseph André Péalat is only produced in a very low volume of around 2000 bottles.

Tasting Notes :
From its bottling, this Saint-Joseph magnificently expresses all the potential of Syrah on the most beautiful terroir of the appellation. With an intense color, it reveals aromas of black fruits , pepper and slightly smoked . On tasting, this Syrah presents very powerful tannins , both tight and velvety . Of an important tannic structure and endowed with a beautiful acidity thanks to the altitude of the vines. It gives a concentrated substance and a high alcoholic potential. Of an excellent composition, these grapes always have a very good maturity . Minerality _of this wine, less expressive in its youth, is remarkable for the tension on the palate. Both deep and concentrated , this Saint-Joseph is characteristic of a historic terroir revealing the spices of a great Syrah.
