The grapes used to make this wine are grown in the stony, limestone and clay terroirs typical of the southern Rhône Valley. It is a blend of three emblematic varietals: Grenache noir, Syrah, and Mourvèdre. The destemmed grapes are vinified in concrete vats and then aged in concrete and stainless-steel vats for a year. The wine is a beautiful ruby-red colour with an intense nose of red berries and spices. It is supple and generous on the palate with a very fine and elegant tannic structure.

La Solitude belongs to one of the oldest families of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, whose roots go back to the 15th century. Today the Estate is managed by Florent Lançon, who represents the eighth generation and continues to uphold the family values. Here, in an environment in which every living thing has a role to play: the wildlife and natural vegetation, the vines, and the people. A great wine is created by the vines, without artifice, and tells the story of their setting.

Tasting Notes:
A beautiful ruby color followed by an intense nose of red fruits with hints of black pepper and spices from Syrah. A supple and greedy mouth with a tannic structure while finesse.

Grape Varietal(s):
Grenache noir, Syrah, Mourvèdre

Awards & Accolades (Robert Parker/ Wine Spectator/ James Suckling etc):
“A seductive nose of dark berries, dark cherries, dried thyme, smoke, and some fresh peppercorns. Medium body with fine tannins. Velvety textured and layered. Vivid with bright dark berries on the palate and a juicy, peppery finish. 50% grenache, 40% syrah and 10% mourvedre. Drink now.” – James Suckling, 91 points
